    1.. CALL TO ORDER – Determination of Quorum

    2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

    3. APPROVAL OF THE FOLLOWING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

    A. Accept and place on file the City Manager’s Report dated May 19, 2008.

    B. Accept and place on file the Minutes of the City Council meeting held on May 5, 2008.

    4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS –

    A. Discussion and approval of the Chariton City Hall and Fire Dept. building and roof restoration and repair project.

    B. Discussion and approval of street projects plan.

    C. Discussion and consider bonding for Street, City Hall and Fire Dept Building, Street Equipment Replacement, Storm Sewer Improvements and refinancing.

    D. Second Reading of an ordinance granting Interstate Power and Light Company (AKA: Alliant Energy) a 25 year franchise agreement for providing Natural Gas to the City of Chariton.

    E. Second Reading of an ordinance granting Interstate Power and Light Company (AKA: Alliant Energy) a 25 year franchise agreement for providing Electricity to the City of Chariton.

    F. Review and approve the amendment to the 2007-2008 budget.

    G. Discuss and set the reserve fund and rates for the Lucas-Monroe County landfill.

    H. Discussion of Chariton Cemetery operation.

    5. NEW BUSINESS

    A. Consider authorizing Lucas County Economic Development to move fund use from the labor study to a web site upgrade.

    B. Approve the selection and purchase of the Chariton Fire Department Heavy Rescue Vehicle.

    C. Consider approval of two additional handicap parking spaces on the square.

    D. Update of the East Lakes Project.

    E. Consider appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

    F. Consider appointment to the Electrical and Plumbing Board of examiners and appeals.

    G. Consider an appointment to the Housing Board.

    H. Approve the 2008 wage and salary increase.

    I. Review and approval of a 28E agreement with Lucas County for the use of the National Guard Armory as a Public Safety Center.

    J. Approval of supplemental agreement No. 2 for limited bid and construction phase services on the Auburn Ave Bridge.

    K.  Approve a zoning change from Light Manufacturing (ML) to RD70 Residential for property on the corner of 2nd and Albia Road.

    L. Update of Recreation Department, swimming pool and consider pool rate and recreation issues for 2008-2009.

    M. Consider a request to proclaim June 1-7, 2008, as CPR-AED Awareness Week in Chariton.

    N. Approve the purchase of a new police vehicle.
