Chariton Recreation Department Information

    The Chariton Community Center's winter hours will be in effect beginning, November 1, 2007.    Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be open gym from 6:30PM - 9:30PM.   Tuesday and Thursday will be reserved for  volleyball leagues and walkers, November 6.  Saturday and Sunday 8:30 - 5:30 PM.

Play equipment has been installed at Northwest Park.  For safety, ground cover has been placed beneath the equipment.  It is ready and waiting for youngsters to visit. 

The Rotary Club has donated funds for the installation of a disk golf course at  Northwest Park.  All work has been completed and the signs are up.  The course was opened in the Spring of 2004.     This is one of the baskets which the disks are tossed   into. Just to the left and at the top of the hill, the white speck is the swans that make their home on the pond at the park.  

This is one of three adjustable basketball goals which have been installed at Bingham Park.
