The City of Chariton is starting the planning for Court Avenue. This project will be a large undertaking and will take several years of planning. The project will/may include new utilities such as water, sewer, and stormwater lines, lighting, sidewalks, and concrete for the street.

Public Meeting on October 26, 2023 

The City of Chariton has partnered with Garden and Associates for the planning of the Court Avenue Reconstruction Project. We invite the public to join us at Chariton City Hall on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 5:30 pm to view preliminary plans and ideas for the project. The city is also looking for public feedback for the project. A short presentation will be given on the project and an opportunity to give feedback on the project to staff and the engineering team with Garden and Associates.
